The Fertile Grounds CSA in Noxen, PA, has been assisted by The University of Scranton Small Business Development Center (SBDC). A CSA is Community Supported Agriculture, and has become a popular way for consumers to buy local, seasonal food directly from farmers. The University of Scranton SBDC assisted the CSA with finding the right labels and packaging for their value added products as well as sourcing wholesalers for their extra produce.  Fertile Grounds CSA also attended the Starting Your Food Business Seminar at the Kitchen Incubator in the Carbondale Technology Transfer Center.  This educational workshop was presented by the Small  Business Development Center.

You can still sign up for your 2012 Fertile Grounds CSA share. Pick up a box of organically grown, local produce every week at the Wilkes-Barre Family YMCA or at The Lands at Hillside Farms. Sign up at http://www.fertilegroundcsa.com .
