Raised in a family business and today assisting her spouse in running businesses, SBDC Consultant, Gretchen Kukuchka understands that having flexibility, confidence, grit, and planning skills are critical to the success of any business! Gretchen has been an SBDC Consultant over 17 years, serving the rural Northern Tier region – Bradford and Tioga Counties, as well as Lackawanna County. She coordinates the Small Business Internship Initiative, linking Northeastern Pennsylvania small businesses and students with internship experiences. Recently named Pennsylvania SBDC’s 2023 State Star, Gretchen sits on the Board of Directors for the Sayre Incubator, Inc., has served on the Board for MetroAction, Inc. and has Certified Business Advisor credentials through GrowthWheel International. Gretchen is inspired by advising businesses with challenges, helping businesses grow, and by the rural communities and community partners she has the opportunity to work with.

Gretchen holds Master’s degree in Human Resources Administration and emphasis on organizational leadership. Her specialty interests are workforce, leadership, succession and strategic planning. Gretchen’s additional professional background includes a background in international exporting/regional economic development and shaping a comprehensive scholarship program for The Roy W. Piper Charitable Trust. A graduate of Virginia Tech, The University of Scranton, and Leadership Lackawanna, Gretchen has presented to a national audience, served on various small business committees and has been the recipient of various awards. Gretchen lives in northeastern PA with her husband and 3 children, and enjoys reading, the outdoors, and camping in her free time.
