Here come those New Years resolutions! Some people may plan to save more money, others will plan to get rid of the holiday pounds, and others will look to make a change in their life! Whatever your choice may be, new years’ resolutions can certainly have an impact on your small business, or maybe be the push you need to start your own!
For small businesses who primarily offer food options this can be a tough time of year as more people are looking to eat healthy and spend less money!
– Look for new ways to advertise what you offer
– Consider offering healthy options in addition to what is already available
– Don’t be discouraged if sales slow in early months of the new year, we all know it’s hard to stick to these resolutions!
– Be more active in promoting and advertising, to make sure the word is getting out about your business!
For small businesses in general try to offer discounts and promotions because people are looking to spend less!
For those of us who are scared to take the first step, think of the New Year as the fresh start you need to start your own business! Contact your local SBDC to get started, or if you’re not there yet just begin brainstorming. The holidays don’t have to be a stressful time, they can be a time to reflect and look for new opportunities!
Good luck!
