This Friday, April 5, marks National Walk to Work Day. As a small business owner, it is likely that you live in close proximity to your business. If you are lucky enough, you might even live within walking distance! If so, National Walk to Work Day is the perfect day for you to take advantage of. At times, being an entrepreneur can be overwhelming and taxing, so taking the time to walk around and get fresh air is a great opportunity to clear your mind and relieve stress.
For those who don’t live in walking distance or work from home, there are ways that you can participate in National Walk to Work Day as well. If you drive to work, carve out some time during your day, whether it be during a lunch break or any free time, and walk around the area. Not only does this give you the chance to burn some calories and get your heart pumping, this can also give you the chance to check out some other local businesses in the area. Stop in and introduce yourself! Getting to know other entrepreneurs in the area is a great opportunity for networking and even gives you the chance to make new friends and get to know the community.
If you are someone who works from home, try and take the time to walk around the block or take your pet for a quick stroll. It is always good to get a change of scenery and a breath of fresh air. Not only that, but a simple walk a day has the ability to boost your mood and improve your overall health.
With spring in full swing and the days getting longer, you will want to be outside any chance that you get. Grab a friend or fellow employee and get walking!
