#BusinessTipTuesday

July 20th is National Pennsylvania Day and it recognizes the second state to join the Union all those years ago. Philadelphia, Pennsylvania was once capital of the nation and is also the location where the Declaration of Independent was signed. The keystone state holds a lot of history! Since in just a few days we will be celebrating the state of PA, let’s take the time to talk about doing business in Pennsylvania for this #BusinessTipTuesday!

There are many resources for people interested in doing business in the state of Pennsylvania. To start, in our state there are 18 Small Business Development Centers (SBDC) that cover all 67 counties. These centers help startups or existing businesses through consulting services, as well as offer training and informational programs to individuals within the community. The SBDC’s consulting services are free of charge.

Another great resource for people looking to do business in Pennsylvania is a site selection tool that offers demographic analysis, competition comparison, and business reports. The website, PA Site Search, is yet another resource provided to help residents do business in the state. As you enter specific information you will receive results that match what you are searching for.

Additionally, there is a wonderful publication on the Department of Community and Economic Development’s website. This was created in February 2018 that acknowledges both first time business owners and existing business owners. It discusses starting a business, legal establishment of business, managing and growing a business, and small business resources. Check out the Entrepreneur’s Guide for complete data, directions, and specifications.
