The University of Scranton Small Business Development Center (SBDC) provides educational programs and no cost, confidential consulting services to entrepreneurs looking to start a small business or grow an existing small business in Bradford County, Lackawanna County, Monroe County, Pike County, Susquehanna County, Tioga County, Wayne County, and Wyoming County in Pennsylvania. The University of Scranton has hosted the SBDC since 1980, providing outstanding resources, support, and funding. The SBDC is housed in the University’s nationally recognized Kania School of Management.

Lisa Hall Zielinski, Director of The University of Scranton SBDC, and Winifred McGee and Lynn Kime, Business Consultants, attended the Northeast Extension Risk Management Education Center’s project director training in Philadelphia April 17 where they had the chance to network and share information with the NERME team and other project directors from various organizations across multiple states.![]()

The Scranton project, which spans 18 months, aims to empower small-scale specialty crop farmers diversifying by adding value to assess current, or start-up, enterprises. The team will offer educational programs, tip sheets, a workbook and hands-on guidance to farmer participants.![]()
