StartUP a program for Women at The University of Scranton

startup The University of Scranton Women’s Entrepreneurship Center (WEC) and Small Business Development Center (SBDC) are teaming up to offer “StartUP” a 4-week certificate program designed for women with lower incomes, offering support and guidance in determining if entrepreneurship is an option for them.

Sponsored by NBT Bank, the series is designed to give lower income women the step-by-step guidance needed to develop successful small businesses. Participants in this interactive program will learn start-up basics, legal and insurance considerations, marketing and social media essentials, business plan development, accounting and budget skills, financing options and requirements, and goal setting. Local women business owners will also visit the sessions to share their experiences. Space is limited and applications are reviewed first come, first served.
