Theresa J. Kaplan
Manager, Legislative and Community
Development
Theresa joined the SBDC in 1988 as a business consultant.
In 1990 she became the consultant manager. She currently holds the title of
Legislative and Community Development, in this position, she monitors
acts as a liaison for the SBDC in relationship between our client and
our local legislators.
Theresa holds a MS in Human Resource Administration with
concentrations in Personnel and Organizational Supervision. Previous to her work at the
SBDC, she was involved in a family-owned service business for over 12 years and also held
support positions (purchasing, inventory control and merchandising) in several retail
operations. She also has nearly 10 years experience working within the social service
sector.
Theresa most often assists SBDC clients who need assistance
in start-up, marketing, personnel and financial planning areas. She enjoys doing research
for her clients using a variety of databases which are found online and/or
through the
Internet.
Theresa also handles the Wayne County outreach program for
the SBDC.
