Francene Pisano Dudziec

Special Projects Coordinator


An active member of the community, Francene has 25+ years in communications with experience in advertising planning, social media marketing, visual design, and communications for higher education, retail/merchandising trends and manufacturing. After a previous career with The University of Scranton as a graphic designer, Francene recently rejoined the SBDC as Special Projects Coordinator. In her role, she works on the Small Business Internship Initiative, a collaborative program created to help small businesses learn about, attract, and host high-value internships and the Women’s Entrepreneurship Center (WEC), a partnership between the Kania School of Management and SBDC. WEC student interns and SBDC staff offer business start-up information, guidance, and encouragement to low-income women, those in transition or those trying to make a better life for themselves and their families.

A graduate of Marywood University, and raised in a family business, Francene believes the retention and expansion of existing small businesses is extremely important to the economic vitality of our region. Her own experience as an entrepreneur lends well to her work at the SBDC, having founded Hello Beach (, dubbed “the smartest beach bag” in the June 2014 edition of Ladies Home Journal is also featured in the newly-released second edition of The Mom Inventors Handbook: How To Turn Your Great Idea Into the Next Big Thing by Dr. Tamara Monosoff. Her products have appeared on, QVC Sprouts,, Good Day Sacramento,,, and She also established Monogram Muse (, a premium personalized gift boutique, and Locate The Lights (, a public website created to use as a guide for Christmas lights, holiday light shows and impressive decorated homes and inflatable displays that are free to the public.

National and local leadership roles previously served include: contributing creative guest for Ryan Lecky (WNEP-TV) and Jasmine Brooks (WBRE/PALive); contributing writer/craft editor for the Scranton Time-Tribune’s The Valley’s Child; LaFesta Italiana Board of Directors, University & College Designers Association (; contributing writer Abington Journal’s style column The Girl’s Got Style; Abington Business Professional Association (; Clarks Summit Festival of Ice; Northeast PA AdClub (AAF affiliate). Francene is also a 2016 graduate of Leadership Lackawanna.
