Donna Simpson
Consultant Manager

Donna has been a member of the SBDC staff since 1993. She holds a Bachelor's Degree from Auburn University and an MBA from Wilkes University, with concentration in Accounting and Finance. Prior to working at the SBDC, she spent several years working for a small accounting firm where she gained experience in accounting and taxation. She has been QuickBooks Certified Pro Advisor for 2007, 2008 and 2009.

Many of Donna’s clients come to her for assistance in the areas of accounting, recordkeeping, financial analysis, start-up, loan packaging, and economic development. Her Accounting for Non-Accountants seminar is always well received. Donna is also a certified instructor of the NxLeveL™ Entrepreneurial Training Program.

She serves as the SBDC's Consultant Manager which includes the oversight of undergraduate and graduate research assistants.
Donna created and coordinates the Award for Woman Entrepreneur program. She presents the WomenWIN! a training program for women entrepreneurs, which she also created. She has taken on responsibility for the student interns of the KSOM Women’s Business Center .

Donna works with clients in Susquehanna County through our outreach office located at the Susquehanna County Planning Commission as well as with Lackawanna County clients in our Scranton office.

In 2010 she was named SBA’s Champion of Women in Business for eastern PA. Donna is a graduate of the Susquehanna County Leadership 2020 Class 7 in 2009 and Leadership Lackawanna class of 2001. Donna was also named a 2006 Woman of Distinction by the Scranton Pocono Girl Scout Council. She was named one of the Top 25 Women in Business by the NEPA Business Journal in 2003 and a Pennsylvania Small Business Development Center State Star in 2004. She is also involved in many community and professional efforts.
